Bread
and cheese lunch
A
BREAD and cheese lunch was held at the Old Parish Church Hall,
Bridge Street, Stranraer, organised by Stranraer Rotary Club,
as the yearly contribution to Christian Aid Week.
As
in previous years, the event proved a great success, raising
£871.
Rotary
Stranraer International convener Henry McFadzean said that
well over one hundred lunches were served and he thanked all
those who had supported the event.
This
well-established event in support of Christian Aid's national
week of fundraising goes to assist projects in some of the
world's poorest countries. It helps people to improve their
own lives and to tackle the causes of poverty and injustice.
Churches in the UK and Ireland set up the charity in 1945.
