Stranraer
Marina Development
A
MARINA development in Stranraer will be high on the agenda
for the next meeting of the Small Towns Initiative board next
month.
It
will follow on from talks held last week when specialists
commissioned by the STI to report on options for such a development
presented their findings.
Charles
Bush from Crest, the company which carried out the work, told
the board of the potential market for such facilities both
locally and further afield.
This
led on to considering the optimum scale of any development.
Mr
Bush then turned to the potential strengths and weaknesses,
opportunities and threats which related to a marina in Stranraer.
The
board agreed it was a comprehensive and informed view of the
current position and that the findings should be incorporated
into a revised strategy for the development of Stranraer seafront.
This
will be a major item on the agenda for the next STI board
meeting in March.
