Geography
Student in Modelling Contest
GORGEOUS
Geography student Lisa Hendry had her sights set on a career
in teaching.
But
that might have to change as she now bids for glory in a top
national modelling contest.
The
18-year-old Stranraer beauty has just been chosen as one of
six finalists in the Pirelli Girl competition.
Thousands
of hopefuls had entered, including many girls with modelling
experience.
But it
was a case of first-time lucky for Lisa who had never done
anything like it before.
Now
she is urging everyone in Scotland to get behind her as she
aims to land the title and with it a year's contract as a
Pirelli Girl, a ride in a World Rally Car and appearances
on Channel 4's rally show.
Speaking
exclusively to the "Free Press" she said
"As
the only Scottish girl to have reached the final six, I
am very proud I feel as if I am representing my country!
"Now
I hope everyone will vote for me by logging onto the world
rally championship website."
Lisa,
who lives at Sandmill Farm in Cairnryan Road, is studying
Geography at Edinburgh University, where she has just finished
first year.
She
was aiming at a career as a Geography teacher but that is
all up in the air with her success in the Pirelli contest.
