MSP
in Drugs Debate
MAVERICK
MSP Tommy Sheridan is being lined up to appear at a question-time
style drugs debate in Stranraer.
The
Scottish Socialist Party leader is one of a number of high-profile
names organisers are hoping will appear at the debate which
will go ahead in just over a month's time.
Camera
crews from both the BBC and Border Television are expected
to cover the event.
Organisers
hope that local MPs and MSPs will appear too, along with Dumfries
and Galloway Chief Constable David Strang and Turning Point's
local manager Tom McIntosh.
Local
pressure group Stranraer Against Drugs are behind the project
which they hope will lead to a full and open debate on Wigtownshire's
well-known drug misuse problem.
Gaille
McCann from Glasgow group Mothers' Against Drugs will also
be a panellist, following her successful talk at a Stranraer
Against Drugs meeting in March.
