Missing
Mural!
A
MURAL 20 feet long by four feet high has gone missing. And
no-one knows where it is.
Commissioned
in 1986 to depict the history of Stranraer, it was paid for
out of the residents committee funds at Bellevilla House in
the town.
It
went on display in time to mark what was the last extension
at Bellevilla, which closed in 1999.
Now
Peter Tuckfield, who was the officer-in-charge at Bellevilla
then, wants to track it down and present it to Stranraer Museum.
Trouble
is, in spite of its size it was painted in three sections
it cannot be found.
Mr
Tuckfield has ascertained that CIC, who took over the running
of old folks' homes in the region from the council, said they
left it there when they moved out.
