Cash
Reward Offered
A
DISGUSTED Stranraer resident has put up a cash reward in a
bid to catch thugs who stoned a swan to death at the weekend.
And,
at the same time, Police Wildlife Liaison Officer Sergeant
Jim McColm condemned the act as "despicable" and
also appealed to the public to come forward and shop the culprits.
A
police investigation is already underway into the incident
which took place in broad daylight in the town's Agnew Park.
Shocked
members of the public called police on Saturday afternoon
to report a group of youths who were throwing stones at swans
at the rear of the park.
The
swans are regularly fed by dog-walkers and are a popular attraction
in the area.
