Man
arrested for Scooter Theft!
POLICE
have arrested a man in connection with the theft of a young
Stranraer girl's scooter. The incident was featured on the
front page of the "Free Press"a fortnight ago.
We
revealed that little Mirren Hannah (5) had won the scooter
in a competition run by The Pet Shop in Stranraer's St John
Street.
But
Mirren's joy turned to despair just one day after winning
the competition, when the scooter was pinched.
Police
this week praised our coverage of the incident, with a spokesman
saying
"The
theft was featured in a front page story in the "Free
Press".
"Thankfully,
there has now been a successful conclusion to the story.
"A
22-year-old local man has been arrested and charged with
the theft and the scooter has been recovered".
This
week, Mirren's mum Kirsty said the little girl was
"over
the moon"to get her new scooter back.
"She
is highly delighted", she added.
Now
she keeps it hidden in the house.
Kirsty
said that since the story was in the "Free Press"
everyone she met had asked if Mirren had got her scooter back.
