European
Highlander vessel arrives
P&O's
brand-new European Highlander vessel arrived at her new home
in Cairnryan last week.
Her
arrival ends an epic journey during which the £36m vessel
sailed 11,000 miles in 26 days, before anchoring in Larne.
Captain
Jim McMullan, who was in command of the ship for her homeward
journey, said
"It
was an absolute honour to take command of European Highlander
for her historic journey home to Cairnryan.
"Although
we experienced some of the worst sea conditions ever on
the way home, European Highlander handled beautifully and
I have no doubt she will quickly establish herself like
her sister ship European Causeway".
Following
berthing trials in Cairnryan and Larne, European Highlander
made her first commercial sailing last week.
