Cheese Packaging Plant Jobs

ANOTHER major boost on the Stranraer jobs front was announced this week.

Family-owned McLelland Cheese, the company behind the famous Seriously Strong cheddar brand, have taken the wraps off a £13 million cheese packaging plant creating 44 jobs.

The investment will create the world's most advanced packaging centre, capable of handling 100 million packs of cheese a year, with expansion capacity for the same again.

It will be aided by a generous package of financial assistance from the Scottish Executive Enterprise and Life-long Department through Regional Selective Assistance and the Scottish Executive Environment and Rural Affairs Department.
