Rescued by Stranraer Football Club
STRANRAER
Football Club players were involved in rescuing people
involved
in a two-car pile-up on the A77 road near Turnberry while
on their way to
Stair Park on Saturday.
And, after helping to get adults
and children out of one car, the group had
a whipround to buy more Easter eggs to replace those scattered
on the road
by the crash.
It was only after the game that manager Billy McLaren
revealed details.
"One car
was overturned and squashed down and there were a couple
and two
wee children in that car.
"It is
fair to say we all contributed to getting them out
of the car and in
the other car we did the same and the family sat in the
bus. That is how
lucky they were".
He added:
"The car
was completely squashed. We had to turn off the engine
and
get the people out with kids screaming. That really was
quite a traumatic
day for us".
