STRANRAER FC WIN FAIR PLAY AWARD STRANRAER did not emerge completely empty-handed from the
season in which
they were relegated to Division Three.
For the Stair Park
side won the sponsor's fair play
award and were last week
named the Bell's Angels 2002/03.
In 36 league matches
The Blues only received 29 bookings and three red cards
not a bad tally in the modern game.
That record translated
into 177 points in the Bell's
discipline statistics 30 points ahead
of the runners-up Falkirk.
Stranraer may
have preferred those points to have been transformed into
league points, thus saving them from the drop into the league¹s
basement.
But club secretary Graham Rodgers says it shows
that former manager Billy
McLaren had at least installed discipline in his side.
" We were pleased
to receive the trophy," said Mr Rodgers. |
