CAR WINNER CAN'T DRIVE ... YET!

LUCKY Stranraer fan Joan Campbell won herself a car in a prize draw on Saturday, but she will not diving behind the wheel - yet.

For 36-year-old Joan cannot drive. But after scooping a brand new Ford Fiesta in Stranraer F.C. Social Club's prize draw she is finally threatening to take lessons.

"The car is a beauty" said Joan of Old Port Avenue, Stranraer.

"I can not drive but this stroke of luck might be the thing which finally forces me to take lessons".

And how she could do with a car. For the Lloyds TSB employee has to catch a bus to Girvan for work every day!

"It would certainly make things a lot easier but I am just used to getting a bus" she said.

Stranraer captain Allan Jenkins made the draw for the car at Reid and Adams Car Dealership before Saturday's match with East Stirling.

And when Social Club chief steward Leslie Hannah dropped in at Joan's house to break the news later that day, the lucky winner says she thought he was there to give her bad news.

"I actually forgot when the draw was being made. You just do not expect to win these things even though you enter" explained Joan.
