AUCTION
RAISES £20,000 FOR CHARITY MACMILLAN
Cancer Relief's Stranraer Appeal was given a tremendous
kick start
at the weekend. For a rural auction at Sandhead raised more
than £20,000.
Never was a farm building put to better use than on Saturday
when Jonathan
Hall's large grain shed at Kirkmabreck, Sandhead was
the venue for the
auction.
Months of planning and preparation by the Stranraer and
Glenluce/New Luce
committees and their parish co-ordinators paid off handsomely
and the
support on the day from the agricultural community and
the general public
was overwhelming.
Hundreds gathered as auctioneers Caledonian Marts, Stirling
assisted at
times by Murray Irving sold everything from prime livestock
to bric-a-brac. |
