Refurbished Centre Opens

STRANRAER'S refurbished Millennium Centre was on Friday officially opened by Galloway MP Peter Duncan.

Thanks to regional and European grants totalling £102,000, the main hall of the former Co-op supermarket in George Street has had a major facelift with a manager appointed to take the Centre forward.

The MP paid tribute to the work of the Centre's trustees, volunteers and project manager Eileen Bryant. George Street, he said, should benefit from the Centre¹s ability to attract people to that part of the town.
