DREAM COME TRUE FOR STRANRAER LAD STRANRAER
lad Ross Adams celebrated his birthday with a five-minute
slot on
national television on Saturday. The football-daft youngster
had a dream
ticket for the Hampden Park commentary box for Saturday's
Scottish Cup final
after winning a BBC/Daily Record competition to find Scotland¹s
next Rob
Maclean.
And Ross' performance impressed BBC bosses
so much that he was
instantly lined-up for a radio appearance on Wednesday
morning. The
Stranraer Academy pupil, who turned 16 on Friday, was due
to appear as a
guest on the Fred MacAuley Show on BBC Radio Scotland at
9.05 a.m. yesterday
(Wednesday) to take part in a phone interview on his cup
final experience.
An
overwhelmed Ross told the Free Press this
week:
"I
thoroughly enjoyed
the cup final, it was a dream come true.
"I was a
little bit scared before I
got to Hampden, but when the game started I settled into
it, it was a phenomenal experience".
