Top Public Speaker

MRS DOROTHY CAIRNS, a member of Stranraer Speakers Club, has won a place in the finals of a top public speaking competition.

At the North Western District Conference of the Association of Speakers Clubs held at the Normandy Hotel in Glasgow, her speech A Leap in the Dark beat competition from as far afield as Greater Glasgow and Cockermouth in North-West England.

Mrs Cairns lives at Beechwood, Main Street, Sandhead.
