Backtrack Success

A TWO MONTH drive to clear up a backlog of unsolved crime in Wigtownshire has been hailed a success by police.

The "backtrack" initiative has resulted in 44 persons being reported for crimes including vandalism, drug dealing, theft and fire raising.

In total, culprits have been detected for almost 100 crimes - offences which may have gone undetected otherwise.

Drugs with a street value of £2500 have also been seized as a result of the eight-week drive.
