Churches Unite

STRANRAER congregations are facing massive changes.

The number of Church of Scotland churches in the town is set to half. Stranraer Old Parish Church is to unite with St Andrews and, when the High Kirk becomes vacant, it will unite with St Ninian's. Buildings to be used will be St Andrews and the High Kirk.

As a consequence of that, Portpatrick, presently linked with St Ninian's, will link with Ervie/Kirkcolm and Leswalt Churches.

The far-reaching changes, were approved at a special meeting of Presbytery of Wigtown and Stranraer.
