North Drummoddie Farm blaze
SEVERE damage was caused to farm machinery when a hay
shed went up in flames on a Whauphill farm last Wednesday.
Three fire engines, two from Newton Stewart and one from
Whithorn attended the blaze, which started shortly before
4pm at North Drummoddie Farm.
Firefighters equipped with
breathing apparatus took a full two and a half hours to
bring the fire under control. A fire brigade spokes-man
said:
"Straw, farm machinery
and some other contents of the shed were severely damaged
by the fire. There was also some damage to the structure
of the building.
" But nobody was injured."
