Portpatrick Lass Stands for Scotland

A LOCAL lass will be flying the flag for the whole of Scotland this Monday as a Miss Great Britain finalist.

Simone Henderson (21), originally from Portpatrick and now living in Hamilton, will take to the catwalk alongside 11 others at the event in London.

And after coming through a selection process of 60 last Sunday, her father John is confident about her prospects.

"It's been a long process, but the fact that she's got this far shows she's got what it takes.

"She has four years freelance modelling work behind her already which has stood her in good stead.

"I'm also hopeful that we can rely on the Scottish vote with Simone being the only Scot remaining."
