Samurai Sword Warning
POLICE in Stranraer have sent out a warning after a
young girl found the
remains of a Samurai sword in an area of grassland in the
town.
The sword, which was found in an area of grass at Fairhurst
Road, consisted
of a handle with three inches of blade still attached.
Despite a thorough
search the remainder of the blade was not found.
Police
stressed that this was an unusual incident but warned youngsters
not
to touch blades if they find them. A spokesman said:
"The
blade seemed to be snapped off and despite a search
of the area the rest remains missing.
"We would like to
remind the public that such instruments are extremely
dangerous and if found by children should not be handled.
"Anyone
with information as to the whereabouts of the rest
of this weapon
should contact Stranraer Police Station."
