Watt Wins Award
STRANRAER manager Neil Watt rounded off a highly successful
year for the
club when he was named Bell's Third Division Manager
of the Year last week.
Having led the Stair Park club to
the Scottish Third Division title at the
first time of asking, picking up five manager of the month
gongs along the
way, Watt was rewarded at a swanky awards dinner in the
Gleneagles Hotel on
Thursday.
After receiving his award from host Jim Delahunt of STV
and Lord and Lady
MacFarlane on behalf of sponsors Bell's, Watt paid
tribute to his squad of
players. He said:
"This is all very flattering and
I am delighted to receive the
accolade. But I see it more as a team award.
"The players
have been fantastic this season."
Watt,
a director with a Glasgow property firm, played for Stranraer
in the
late 1980's and was installed as manager last May
after the resignation of
Billy McLaren.
