Classic Car Clearance
A LOCAL man is holding a garage clearance of some distinction — with
five of his classic cars up for grabs.
The motors are being
sold by Stranraer man Ian McNally, including a fully-restored
1960 Mark II Jaguar and 1930
Morris Cowley.
Ian bought his first classic car at the age
of 18 — a
1953 Hillman Minx for £22 10 s. — and over
the next 40 years restored dozen of others.
Now, due to
ill-health, he is winding down and has decided to sell
his remaining models, which also include a 1947
Austin 8, a 1937 Austin Ruby, both in need of restoration,
and a 1935 Ford Model Y. He said:
“I have been into
cars ever since I left school, and I still go to local
functions and different
charity shows.
“There has been a lot of interest in the cars
already from fellow collectors, mostly from outwith the
area, which
shows how quickly word spreads.
“I’m sorry to see them go, but they need a lot of
maintenance and it’s time to wind down.”
Ian
could not cut himself off from his cars completely, though,
and has decided to invest in “something small
and easily transported”.
Anyone interested in purchasing any of the above cars
should call Ian on 07974 961720.
