FORMED in June 1987 following a wide range of community consultation CONSTITUTED: Public Meeting in Glenluce chaired by a previous Dumfries and Galloway Regional Councillor David McHarg, where the Constitution was agreed along with the Aims and Objectives.

The six
AIMS and OBJECTIVES
of WCVS are:

1. Assessing the needs of the Community and assisting in articulating those needs.

2. Assisting the development of new and existing organisations and helping them to come to terms with change.

3. Providing practical and advisory services.

4. Encouraging people to participate In Voluntary Work and Community Affairs.

5. Facilitating collaboration between Statutory Organisations and with Statutory Authorities on common Issues and concerns.

6. Encourage Public Authorities to give appropriate support to the Voluntary Sector.
